Public Open Times: Friday April 14 to Friday April 21 from 9am to 5pm and Saturday April 22 from 9am to Noon (voting closes at noon).

Entrance Fee: $5.00. 

Award Presentations: Saturday April 22 at 1pm at the Porongurup Hall, 2257 Porongurup Rd, Porongurup followed by refreshments.

Exhibition Collection: Saturday April 22 after 2 pm and before 5pm.
N.B. If unable to collect on this day, please make arrangements for someone to do so.   
    

Exhibition Location: Near the Castle Rock Day Use area in the Porongurup National Park.      

Artist in Residence: Nathan Firth and Diane Sheehan. Children very welcome.

Conditions of entry (Click here to download)

  1. General competition is open to all persons 16 years of age and over.
  2. Entries from under 18 years are also invited to enter into a Youth Section.
  3. The Exhibit must not have won a prize in any previous art exhibition or competition.
  4. Entry is to be sculptural, broadly defined as a 3-dimensional exhibit.
  5. Any material suitable for extended outdoor exhibition may be used for the sculpture.
  6. Entrants are responsible for installing their display on site in a way that will ensure it will remain intact for the duration of the exhibition.
  7. Exhibits and the manner of installation should respect the natural setting of the exhibition site.
  8. To protect the environment of the National Park, exhibit must not damage any of the surrounding native vegetation.
  9. Exhibition can be accessed from Castle Rock Rd.  Please contact us for directions if you wish to inspect the site prior to the event.
  10. All delivery vehicles and exhibits must be free from soil from any dieback area.
  11. Access for set up is only allowed between 9am and 5pm on Thursday April 13 2017. Exhibits must be in place by 5pm. To install earlier, please make special appointment with the organisers.
  12. No vehicular traffic will be allowed in the exhibition site during the exhibition opening times.
  13. Entry forms with $15 fee per entry for the Youth or $20 per entry for general open category to be received by 5pm on Saturday April 1 2017.  Multiple pieces for a particular exhibit allowable as long as they have a cohesive theme (example – 'Butterflies in the Park').
  14. To be complete, each entry form must name the artist (or group name of artists) and exhibit, describe materials, and provide notes about the art work that will be included in the catalogue available to patrons.                               
  15. Application to enter carries with it permission for organisers to use images of exhibits for publicity purposes of Art in the Park.
  16. Artwork can be available for sale with a commission of 20% of selling price payable to the Friends of the Porongurup Range Inc.   Please include sale price of exhibit on entry form. Organisers ask that you do not use POA, the exhibit should be marked For Sale or Not for sale
  17. Exhibits can only be removed by artists or purchasers after 2pm on Saturday, April 22. If unable to collect on this day, please make arrangements for someone to do so on your behalf. No responsibility will be taken for art works remaining on site after 5pm on April 22.
  18. Public voting closes at noon on Saturday, April 22.  The awards ceremony will be held at 1pm in the Porongurup Hall, 2257 Porongurup Rd. All artists and their family and friends are invited.  Refreshments will follow after the presentations.
  19. For security, no access will be permitted between 5pm and 9am at the exhibition site unless by prior arrangement.  The venue will be staffed 24 hours a day for the duration of the exhibition and set-up.
  20. All care will be taken by the organisers (Friends of the Porongurup Range) but if property insurance is required, exhibitors should arrange their own.
  21. The organisers reserve the right to exclude an entry.
